3-D ultrasound

Yesterday Spencer and I went to the doctor to get a 3-D ultrasound of our baby. It was so much fun to see a glimpse of what our little guy will look like. The umbilical cord was right below his nose and in front of his mouth so that part is a little blurry and in some of the pics it looks like he has a mustache! :) So funny.

Here is the little stud himself:

Side profile... totally has a Brems' nose:

My favorite pic...

Finished Product

The crib will go against the wall on the right under the very end branches of the tree. Spencer found the perfect tree... I love it!

Nursery In Progress

I've been working on the baby's nursery for the last little while now and although its coming little at a time, I am super happy with how it is coming along! I started by painting a few of the walls a green color... you can't really see the true green that it is in the pic but oh well.

Then, I used an overhead projector to put a picture of a tree silhouette that Spence found up on the wall. I traced it with a piece of chalk to get the outline up on the wall.

Here's the whole tree... minus the squares on it where pictures are supposed to go. I left the squares out and just free handed the branches for a little bit.

Pics of the finished product soon to come! :)

Please Make This for Dinner

All I can say is YUM.

We made this last night and it was delicious! Please make this for dinner tonight... You won't regret it.

p.s. Don't leave out the basil. The basil in the recipe is a must.

28 weeks

I usually take these pics while Spence is at school which is why I am always taking them myself. I attempted using the timer on the camera today since every picture I have taken of my belly has been in front of our shower curtain ha! Obviously I was not very successful with the timer, so we get another one of these. :)

28 weeks and counting! My hair has been up most days...can you say time for a new haircut?!

Um....

Is it so bad that I don't want our baby boy to ever come out of me?

It sounds a little too painful to me. I mean, I think I've seen my fair share of pain throughout my life.

- broken ankle
- fractured hand
- numerous muscle strains and sprains
- intense muscle lockening in my back to the point where I could not get out of bed on my own
- stress fracture in my fibula
- broken clavicle and three ribs
- and then to top it all off, 5 dislocated metatarsals, 3 of which were broken as well as tearing of a major ligament in my foot (this has been by far the worse of the bunch)

I am not sharing all of this to write about how tough I am, or how cool I am that all of these things have really happened to me throughout my life because honestly, I would have rather not felt any of that pain.

I'm just saying that looking back at that list, I think my body has seen enough. Most of these issues came from being so involved in gymnastics, which I totally understand was my choice, but either way

pain = no fun

And he's doing just fine in my belly the way he is. Maybe I won't feel this way in a few weeks, but at least I do right now. I went in to the doctor to have some little (ok maybe they were huge) bumps on my fingers frozen off and I almost passed out. They had to keep me an extra 40 minutes so I could lay down and let my blood pressure go back to a normal level. Spencer even had to come and pick me up from the doctor's office. I have to go back in a week to have it all done again and I'm hoping that my body won't react the same way, but I guess I better go in expecting it. I really think that having this little man in me is changing my pain tolerance which kind of worries me considering he still has to come out of me haha!

Anyways... the moral of the story is... I like him where he is. In my belly. To never come out. Is that so bad?

27 weeks...

... in three days.

I've been really bad at taking pics of my belly lately so I made myself take one today. Baby boy is getting bigger and bigger and so is his mommy! He is really making himself comfortable in there and doesn't mind letting me know that he is in there. Sometimes he actually scares me when he kicks unexpectedly and he is definitely starting to like my ribs lately. He's pretty dang cute... I can tell already ;) We can't wait to meet him!
